Driving to a different beat

Aug 26

We’re all into different types of music – you might enjoy rocking away on your trusty old air guitar to a bit of AC/DC, while I might prefer singing along to Jedward’s latest musical ‘creation’. I said might. Maybe you’re even that rarest of creatures – an Enya fan. But what you probably didn’t realise is that different music genres can affect the way you drive

A recent study by Halfords found that playing calming music prevents blood pressure from rising and encourages more considerate drivers. So how about swapping your Guns N’ Roses CD with something a little more chilled out like Adele.

Nine out of 10 drivers admit that playing music in the car has an effect on their mood and behaviour behind the wheel, with 60 percent saying it makes them happier and more considerate motorists.

However, some 15 percent of drivers admitted that their choice of music makes them drive faster and 5 percent said it made them more aggressive. This change in be

Rental car insurance covered by credit cards

Jul 14

In the auto insurance sector the rental car insurance is also better known as loss damage waiver or collision insurance but it has been derided by experts in this field as the cash cow for car rental companies. Rental cars need not be insured unlike the primary vehicles. There are some auto insurance policies that can provide partial coverage to rental cars. There are a number of exclusions and the damage waivers are not entirely the comprehensive cover that one can expect as it is full of exemptions such as exclusions for property damage and higher deductibles. The credit card companies may also offer coverage at no additional cost.

Catastrophic auto insurance suggested by Halifax lawyer

Jul 01

A Halifax personal injury lawyer has suggested to the Nova Scotia government that there needs to be a boost in the medical rehabilitation benefits which are handed out to those who suffer ‘catastrophic’ injuries in motor vehicle accidents.
